Coachella: Day 3

After being on my feet for two days, I was not looking forward to another day of standing--my feet and legs are KILLING me! I stood or sat in the back most of the day, so I didn't get many good stage shots, but I'll see if I can steal some from other bloggers.

Suffered through an overwhelmingly below average band called Fair To Midland because Tapes 'n Tapes was up next. T n T was good, but for some reason I was expecting more.

I'd heard a couple decent Grizzly Bear songs, so we sprawled out in the back to listen. Way too instrumentally indulgent for my taste. Got bored and wandered around taking pictures instead.

Rodrigo y Gabriela are a phenominal guitar playing duo--brother and sister who will amaze you both visially and sonicaly with their music. Certainly one of the better performances of the festival.

Jon and I split up after. I went to Canser de Ser Sexy (CSS), and he went to Kaiser Chiefs. I wanted to see both, but was forced to choose. I went with the Brazilian ladies. Despite poor sound, they still put on a really good show. I think they would be better suited in a small venue.

After an overpriced Mexican dinner in the food court, we went to see Jose Gonzales who was very mellow, but good.

Sat outside the tent, but within listening distance for Lily Allen. The places was overflowing for such a bland performer.

One of the more lively and interesting stage shows came courtesy of The Teddybears. Good music combined with costumes and crazy visuals = fun time by all.

Finally, over to the main stage for the last and biggest band of the festival: Rage Against The Machine. I was a little nervous, because the first two songs started out a bit rough. But them Zach came into his own and brought the house down. One brain exploding song after another. The crowd was bezerk and I'm sure a plethora of injuries were sustained. Jon and I were watching safely from a distance, via two giant video screens.

Coachella is an experience one must have first hand. These pictures only give a glimpse into the event. I have some more photos to sort and post later, so check back.
