Haedong Yonggungsa Temple

Took a bus out to explore the Haedong Yonggungsa Temple area today.

A lot of intricate detail on the buildings

I've noticed that a lot of young Korean couples go out wearing matching outfits. I guess it helps when one of them gets lost. When security asks what the missing person is wearing, they can point to themselves and say "this".

I liked the look of this rock tower

...and these candles

I went through the Fisheries Science Museum--this was the only photo I felt like posting. It's a fish made from fish hooks.

A late lunch

And then an afternoon showing of Bourne Legacy. This is the first movie I've seen in the theater since leaving the US six months ago.

Jagalchi Market and Taejongdae Park

In and around Jagalchi Fish Market

Lunch at this small joint

Around the lighthouse in Taejongdae Park on Yeongdo Island.

I love a nice rocky beach. Sand gets everywhere.

I spent the day at Spaland in the Shinsegae department store. Hot baths, saunas, relaxation rooms, and more. Heavenly.

Some views from the sky park on the 9th floor

Guinness Book says this is the largest department store in the world.

Met up with a French dude and went to dinner at this chicken place.

We had a NON-romantic night stroll along the beach after.

Busan Bound

I'm back in Korea for a second time, buying some more time while my work visa application waits to be processed. I flew into Busan this time, where I'll be spending 4 nights. I'm staying at the HiKorea Hostel in the Haeundae Beach area. It's new and clean. Hardly anyone here tonight, so I have a 4 person room to myself. I explored the area a little in search of a place to eat. So many local spots I'd love to try, but it's intimidating when everything is in Korean. In the end I picked a busy place on Market street and pointed at some things that looked ok.

Random Photo Post

I don't have a specific reason for this post, other than to post some random photos I've received recently.

My mom took some family photos from a birthday party for my dad last week. These are a few of them. I'm not favoring Seth, he just happened to wiggle his way into all of them. I don't think I'm being biased when I say I have some good looking nephews. See for yourself.

Happy birthday Dad! (my brother David also pictured)

Miss you Grandma!

Me at church with Mari, Kanisha, and Princess.

Welcoming the sunrise atop Mt. Takao with Derek. This is the reason I live in Takao. I have these endless mountains right in my backyard.

Angie sent me this old photo out of the blue, and it's my new favorite thing. From my trip up to Moses Lake for an Earl family reunion. This was taken during our side trip to Seattle. Joey looks 7 years old. I had hair. Good times.
