Random Picture Post: June 2013

These are some random photos that span the last 2 or 3 months. Some you may have caught on Facebook.

This little cutie is my newest niece: Chloe Ann

Tsukiji Market

I made a day trip to check out Tsukiji Market on Saturday. There wasn't a lot to photograph that I haven't already photographed many times before in other markets around the world, so not many pictures below.

There are many pickled items for sale in the outer markets.

Take note that it is NOT raining. The ladies use umbrellas on sunny days as well as rainy ones. I wish I could get away with this too, but I've been told it's frowned upon when men do it.

I ate lunch at Sushi Zanami, one of two kaiten sushi places in the outer markets. It was pretty good.

Busan Bound

I'm back in Korea for a second time, buying some more time while my work visa application waits to be processed. I flew into Busan this time, where I'll be spending 4 nights. I'm staying at the HiKorea Hostel in the Haeundae Beach area. It's new and clean. Hardly anyone here tonight, so I have a 4 person room to myself. I explored the area a little in search of a place to eat. So many local spots I'd love to try, but it's intimidating when everything is in Korean. In the end I picked a busy place on Market street and pointed at some things that looked ok.

Japanese Food To Go

Groceries stores have a lot of delicious food available to grab and go. These are a few of the many selections I have dined on.

Panajachel & Chichicastenango

Sorry it's taken me this long to get a group shot up. Out for sushi in San Cristobal with the 7 of us: Martha, Danielle, Me, Steve, Jessica, Jun, and Olivia

Okada

One more quick Vegas post before moving on. We went to dinner at Okada at the Wynn our last night. It's an incredible Japanese steak house, however I opted for sushi this go round. There's so much food that I did get to sample a bit of everything else too.

I started with a subtlety delicious Japanese cucumber and seaweed salad.

Lei it on me

The rest of my trip was spent in Waikiki, at the Sheraton. They were overly generous to us the entire trip. I loved my room so much I had a hard time leaving.
