Elite Status

I've never had elite status with any reward program until I started my current job. With all the meetings I book, I quickly earned Platinum Elite status with Marriott, and I have to tell you, I LOVE it! Is it a crime to want to be treated special? Rich people get accustomed to being treated better, but when you are a poor working class stiff like myself, and you still get treated better, it's extra special.

One of my favorite perks is gaining access to their Concierge Lounges, where the food and drink flows like wine... mostly because there is free wine, but that's besides the point. I snapped a quick photo of this morning's breakfast as an example.

What a great start to the day: bagels with cream cheese and lox, scrambled eggs with cheese, pineapple, strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and orange juice.

I'm in D.C. for the HSMAI Affordable Meetings conference to network and hone my skills as a meeting planner. I may post more about it if anything exciting happens.

Regarding the photo: I realize it's probably a fancy table, but it appears you have set all this food and your utensils on the floor to take the picture.

Most people don't know this, but it's customary with the people of D.C. to eat off the floor. I picked up that tip from my handy guide book.
